Practice Studio is made by Nicola Pastori, a guitar teacher. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, write to me directly — there is no ticket system and no bot.

The tuner or the recorder doesn't hear anything

Practice Studio needs microphone access. Open Settings › Practice Studio on your device and switch Microphone on. If you denied it the first time, this is the only way to grant it.

My overdub is slightly out of sync

Every device and every pair of headphones adds a little latency. Open Settings › Recording latency and tap Calibrate: the app plays a click, listens to it through the microphone, and measures the real round-trip on your hardware. You can also nudge the offset by hand.

Bluetooth headphones sound wrong, or recording is disabled

Bluetooth headphones introduce a large and unstable delay, so recording through them is intentionally blocked — an overdub recorded over Bluetooth would never line up. Playback works fine. For recording, use wired headphones or the built-in microphone.

The app won't import my audio file

Practice Studio plays what the device can decode: WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A/AAC and ALAC. It cannot open OGG, Opus or FLAC. Video files work too — the app extracts the audio track from them.

Where did my library go?

Your songs, recordings and scores sync through your own iCloud account. If they're missing on a second device, check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account and that iCloud is enabled for Practice Studio in Settings.
